The Sink

As of today, we are still going with a stainless sink.  16 gauge very likely.  Undermount, naturally, now that the soapstone guy described how to mount it without clips.

I really really really wanted a farmhouse style sink, but that will have to wait for our “forever home”.  We’d need to do too much to the existing cabinet to support it and I don’t want to do THAT much work.

Just a matter of choosing which one now and actually making a purchase.

I saw the soapstone gallery a website and can see how the undermount most definitely looks more high-end. Seems like you can cut your holes pretty easily, but do you want to risk making that mistake? Hmmmmmmmm. This is a tough one.

Yeah, you use a hole saw attachment with the drill… Or I suppose could use a fly/paddle bit depending on the size hole.

It’s $50 bucks per hole for them to drill. It would almost be worth getting a scrap piece and practicing…

I think it can be done. $50 is all your hardware – a much better way to spend the moolah. Yes, a scrap piece is essential.

Two things – first, the crap hardware I have now was $26 (not including hinges) – too funny that I didn’t bother with the intertubes to find something better.

And two – you mean that I SHOULD get a piece of scrap and WE should do it? Just confirming.

Yes, I think we should give it a try with cutting the holes. On a scrap piece. Before you make a final decision.

    What are intertubes?
